Heartbreaking Work Murder in Konya: 14-Year-Old Suleyman Died in His Father's Workshop

Konya - As a new one was added to the balance sheet of work murders across the country, this time the reality of child labor was at the center of the painful news. In the Yeşilyurt new industrial site in Konya's Beyşehir district, 14-year-old Süleyman Keskin, who was working in his father's gun workshop, died as a result of a tragic work accident. While all of Turkey mourned the loss of his life at such a young age, it brought the issues of child labor and occupational safety into the discussion once again.

Unfortunate Accident at CNC Machine

According to the information received, the unfortunate incident took place yesterday at noon in the arms repair and manufacturing workshop of Süleyman Keskin's father. Young Süleyman was bending over the CNC machine in the workshop for a process when one of the moving parts of the machine hit his head. The boy, who was seriously injured by the impact of the impact, was immediately taken to the hospital by those at the scene, but despite all interventions, he could not be saved and died. While silence prevailed in the workshop where the accident happened, the father and his family were devastated by the painful news.

Junior High School Graduate

The death of Suleyman Keskin in the prime of his life, when he had hopes for the future, has caused deep sorrow among the people of the region and his loved ones. Suleyman, who graduated from Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Imam Hatip Secondary School this year, was reportedly at the workshop to help his father. This tragic incident has painfully highlighted the risks of many families' practice of involving their children in work after school or during vacation periods. Experts once again warn authorities about how dangerous workshops, especially in the industrial and manufacturing sector, can be for children.

Work Safety Debate Back on the Agenda

This workplace murder, announced by the Workers' Health and Safety Assembly (Workers' Health and Safety Assembly) on social media, has once again drawn attention to the adequacy of occupational safety inspections in Turkey and the shortcomings in the fight against child labor. A 14-year-old boy working at a machine with potentially fatal consequences is an urgent reminder of the need to enforce legal regulations and increase inspections. While an investigation into the incident is underway, the public expects the authorities to take concrete steps to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
