22nd Ankara Book Fair (October 3-12, 2025) starts at ATO Congresium! Russia, the Guest of Honor, welcomes a large delegation of writers headed by Yuriy Polyakov and Ayşe Kulin. Don't miss new releases in Russian, poetry nights and Crimean Tatar literature events.
22nd Ankara Book Fair opens its doors to book lovers this year at ATO Congresium between October 3-12, 2025. The fair, with visiting hours between 10.00 and 20.00, is hosting Russia as the Honored Guest Country by building a cultural bridge this year. Ayşe Kulin, one of the important names of Turkish literature, is among the prominent local writers of the fair.
Within the scope of the fair, the stand prepared jointly by Russian House Ankara and Russian Writers' Union will witness a richer and more intense program than ever before. For this special event, a large delegation of writers headed by the famous writer Yuriy Polyakov, President of the Russian Writers Union, is coming to Ankara.
The delegation includes prominent figures from different disciplines of contemporary Russian literature:
Representatives of Contemporary Russian Poetry: Anna Revyakina, Igor Karaulov, Aleksandr Pelevin and Aleksey Ostudin.
Writers of Children's Literature: Violetta Minina and Viktoriya Tatur.
Historian and Author: Artyom Drabkin and Dmitri Orehov.
Thanks to the fair, visitors will have the opportunity to meet important works translated into Turkish for the first time. Among the books to be introduced are:
Aleksandr Pelevin's latest novel is "Pokrov-17".
Dmitri Orehov's "Cranes".
A.V. Isayev and A.V. Drabkin's joint work on the history of the war "The Great Patriotic War. 1941–1945”.
There will also be a presentation of the anthology "The Immortal Language of War", which brings together poems on Donbass and the Special Military Operation, translated into Turkish.
The fair devotes a large space not only to prose works but also to poetry. A comprehensive Russian poetry night will be organized; poets will share their works with readers both in the original Russian language and in Turkish translations, building a bridge between the two cultures.
As part of the Russian program, a delegation of Crimean Tatar writers will also participate in the fair, promoting Crimean Tatar works and drawing attention to this cultural richness.
In addition to book launches and literary meetings, the fair will also host important academic and political debates. The program will include talks by Turkish Russists, translators of Russian literature, analysts and political scientists. In addition to the fair program, the delegation of the Russian Writers' Union plans to visit Russian language departments of leading universities in Ankara.
Ankara Book Fair invites book lovers to delve deeper into both Turkish and Russian literature at ATO Congresium between October 3-12, 2025.
