Mehmet Demirel, President of Health Liyakat-Sen, reacted strongly to the Ministry of Health's 100,000 TL (90,000 TL Cash + 10,000 TL Parapoints) Promotion Agreement with Ziraat Bank. Demirel claimed that the agreement was made in a non-competitive environment without the knowledge of the authorized union and called on all NGOs to act jointly to increase the wage.
ANKARA - Sağlık Liyakat-Sen Union has reacted strongly to the amount of 100.000 TL (90.000 TL Cash + 10.000 TL Parapoints) and the method of the agreement, which the Ministry of Health allegedly agreed with Ziraat Bank for the Bank Salary Promotion covering the years 2026-2028. In an announcement signed by General President Mehmet Demirel, the union said, "The Procedure is Right, the Method is Wrong" and demanded an immediate revision of the agreement.
President Demirel, while admitting that the procedure was correct because they wanted the promotional tender to be held centrally by the Ministry's Central Organization, claimed that the agreement was made in a non-competitive manner.
Demirel Criticized the Methodology of the Agreement in Strong Language, Stating that the Promotion of the Health Army of More Than One Million was Not Made in a Transparent Environment:
"The Promotion Agreement for Over One Million Healthcare Professionals should have been made with the Bank that paid the most money in a competitive, cut-throat race. Even when this tender was supposed to be broadcast live on the Internet, We learned that the deal was finalized at midnight."
The President drew attention to the fact that the amount of 100,000 TL is also far below expectations. Reminding that the Previous Promotion Amount Corresponded to 3.5 Times the Lowest Civil Servant Salary, Demirel emphasized that the Current 100,000 TL Amount is Under Double Even the Lowest Civil Servant Salary. It was stated that this situation shows the economic loss of health workers.
Mehmet Demirel, claiming that the Promotion Meeting was held without the knowledge of the Authorized Health Union Management, said:
"If the Promotion Meeting had been held with the participation of the Ministry, the Authorized Trade Union and the Bank Management, the Authorized Trade Union would have announced it on sheets of paper."
Sağlık Liyakat-Sen called on all non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to stop blaming and act together as one body at this point. Demirel said, "We are of the opinion that a revision can be made on this wage in favor of civil servants upon request. It's Never Too Late for Anything," He made a final appeal to the Ministry and the Bank to improve the agreement in favor of the civil servants.
