Öz Büro İş Union decided to strike after the collective bargaining process at the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) reached an impasse. General President Baki Gülbaba announced in a press release that their reasonable demands were not met and that the struggle would continue.
Oz Büro İş Union has decided to strike after the collective bargaining process at the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) ended negatively. The union organized a well-attended press statement in front of the TSE headquarters in Ankara. The statement was met with great interest by union members and members of the press.
Union President Baki Gülbaba said in a statement that the negotiations, which have been going on for months, have reached a point that has led to a strike. Gülbaba emphasized that despite all the well-intentioned efforts of the union, they could not get a response to their reasonable and fair demands.
Gülbaba stated that TSE laborers have been waiting patiently for months and are looking forward to updating their wages and renewing the outdated figures. Expressing that the only expectation of the employees is a fair collective bargaining agreement, Gülbaba said that a "wall has been built" against this expectation and that they cannot see a will that stands by labor.
Gülbaba also claimed in his statement that employees were being intimidated by pressure and mobbing throughout the process. He reminded once again that the solution to the problems of TSE laborers, who are already struggling due to the heavy tax burden, is the collective bargaining table.
The General President of Öz Büro İş Union emphasized that their demands are reasonable and that they want what they deserve, and stated that this struggle will continue until they are paid for their labor. Gülbaba concluded by saying, "Neither pressures nor threats can turn us from our path. TSE laborers are determined for a fair collective bargaining agreement and we will continue our struggle with this determination until the end", he concluded his words.
