KOOP-İŞ Union announced a strike in Van, Trabzon, Diyarbakır, Ankara, Kayseri, Antalya, Antalya and Siirt directorates of TurkStat following the failure to reach an agreement in collective bargaining negotiations.
KOOP-IS Union Declares Strike Decision in 7 Provinces of TurkStat
The Cooperative, Trade, Education and Clerical Workers Union of Turkey (KOOP-İŞ) has announced a strike in seven provincial directorates of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) due to the failure to reach an agreement in the negotiations on the Framework Protocol for Public Collective Labor Agreements.
The Process Started in Van and Trabzon is Spreading
Van Branch President Ayhan Özbek announced the strike decision together with the members, saying "We will not stop until we are paid for our labor" in a statement made at TÜİK Van unit.
Trabzon Branch President Fikri Öksüz emphasized his determination to fight by saying, "We will use our rights arising from the law to the end."
Diyarbakır, Ankara and Kayseri Committed to Action
Members of the Malatya Branch announced their decision to strike in Diyarbakır and Ankara Branch No. 2 in the capital.
Ankara Branch No. 2 President Soner Berk said, "We have issued the strike decision as of today," adding that no agreement has been reached in the ongoing negotiations.
Kayseri Branch President İdris Güven said, "We are in this struggle for the right to the sweat of our brow."
Antalya and Siirt TurkStat also issued strike notices
Antalya Branch President Üzeyir Tankut announced the strike decision together with the members and gave the message "We are determined for our rights."
Finally, a strike decision was announced in Siirt TÜİK building where KOOP-İŞ Van Branch is organized. The union stated that it will continue the struggle under the leadership of their Confederation TÜRK-İŞ.

KOOP-İŞ Union announced strike decisions in Van, Trabzon, Diyarbakır, Ankara, Kayseri, Antalya, Antalya and Siirt units of TurkStat and emphasized that it will fight for the rights of public workers with determination.
