Birlik Eğitim-Sen President Dr. Murat Karataş and members of the board of directors visited Şalpazarı Atatürk Primary School Vice Principal Sami Başkan. During the visit, the union emphasized "merit first, then rights".
Şalpazarı - Birlik Eğitim-Sen President Dr. Murat Karataş and Board Members Fatih Kul, Bekir Şaş, Selim Kul and Mustafa Öztürk visited Şalpazarı Atatürk Primary School Vice Principal Sami Başkan in his office. The union delegation exchanged views on the problems of education employees and union activities and thanked Sami President for his hospitality.
Another point that increased the importance of the visit was the fact that the slogan "#privilegeatsonpractice", which Birlik Eğitim-Sen has been advocating for a long time, was kept at the forefront in such local contacts of the union. General President Dr. Murat Karataş and the accompanying delegation emphasized that the principle of merit should be taken as a basis in order to increase the quality of education and ensure working peace. The union believes that the use of objective criteria in appointments and assignments will increase motivation among education employees and improve the quality of service.
The union leadership's visits to provincial educational institutions show that the union's struggle is not only carried out at the headquarters level, but also through direct communication with workers in the field. Such visits strengthen the union's ties with the grassroots and allow education workers to learn first-hand the problems and demands at the local level. It was also stated that the developments in the education agenda, the problems faced by teachers and administrators and solution suggestions were also discussed during the visit.
The delegation of Birlik Eğitim-Sen thanked Sami Mayor for his hospitality and once again expressed their determination in the struggle to protect the rights and interests of education employees. The union gave the message that it will continue to act with an understanding that covers all education workers and produces solutions to their problems. The visit was an example of the union's local organizing activities and its strong communication with education workers.
