Emphasis on the Fight Against Terrorism from Türkiye Kamu-Sen: "Any decision that would prejudice the memory of our martyrs should be avoided"

ANKARA - Önder Kahveci, President of Türkiye Kamu-Sen, participated in the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) with the goal of "Terror Free Turkey" and conveyed the views of the confederation on the fight against terrorism. Kahveci stated that this homeland was kneaded with the blood of martyrs and the sacrifice of veterans and emphasized that a decisive stance should be taken to end terrorism.

Terrorism Has Not Only Military, But Also Social Effects

General President Kahveci pointed out that terrorism has caused great damage to the country not only in the military field but also in the economic, political and social fields. Kahveci said, "These attacks were aimed at destroying the cornerstones of public services, from education to health, from local governments to the justice system, and to weaken the state authority."

He added that if Turkey has not been dragged into a civil war, it is thanks to the nation's embrace of the millennia-old brotherhood law.

Constitutional Principles Are Our Red Line

Emphasizing that the goal of a terrorist-free Turkey will only be possible if all elements of the terrorist organization at home and abroad unconditionally surrender their weapons, Kahveci stated that the constitutional framework must be meticulously protected in this process. In his speech, Kahveci reminded the first 4 articles of the Constitution and Articles 42 and 66 and said, "From our point of view, the key to the goal of 'Terror Free Turkey' is to rally around the principles expressed in these articles of our Constitution."

Loyalty to Martyrs and Veterans

Kahveci concluded his speech by emphasizing loyalty to martyrs and veterans. "In this process, it is imperative to stay away from any decision and behavior that would prejudice the memory of our beloved martyrs and to avoid steps that would negate the efforts of our veterans," Kahveci said, adding that the unity of the nation was built on the blood of martyrs and that their sacrifices would not be in vain.
