Turkish Metal Union Presidents' Council Convened: MESS Starts Drafting for Collective Bargaining Agreement

ANKARA - The Turkish Metal Union's Board of Presidents met at the union's headquarters on Monday, August 25, 2025 under the chairmanship of President Uysal Altundağ. The main agenda of the meeting was the preparatory work before the group collective bargaining agreement (CBA) process that the union will carry out with MESS (Turkish Metal Industrialists Union).

Comprehensive Preparation for the Draft

The meeting started with the opening speech of General President Altundağ. Then, the comprehensive preliminary studies conducted by the union for the MESS Group Collective Bargaining Agreement process were presented. In this context, the results of surveys and research conducted with the participation of more than 10 thousand union members were shared with the board members.

The reports containing all thoughts and demands expressed at the assembly of representatives meetings held in the branches of the union between August 13-22, 2025 were also discussed. Following the evaluations made on these reports, the preparatory work for the draft of the new term collective bargaining agreement was started.

Delegation to the Board of Directors

With the determination of the general principles of the draft, the union management took an important decision. The Executive Board of the union has been authorized to determine the details of the draft collective bargaining agreement and make it public. This authorization indicates that the details of the draft will be clarified in the coming days and the demands of the union will be shared with the public.

With this meeting, the Turkish Metal Union has prepared the ground for a strong negotiation process by meticulously evaluating the expectations of its members and the demands from the field before the negotiations with MESS.
