Önder Kahveci, President of the Turkish Healthcare Workers' Union (Türk Sağlık-Sen), said that the Ministry of Health's promotion agreement of 90,000 TL in cash and 10,000 TL in cash points was "unacceptable". Kahveci stated that this amount is low in the face of the expectation of one salary per year and called on the Ministry to make a new evaluation to increase the promotion.
ANKARA - Türk Sağlık-Sen General President Önder Kahveci reacted strongly to the amount of promotion that the Ministry of Health allegedly agreed with banks for health workers. Commenting on the news that the Ministry made an agreement with the banks for 90,000 TL Cash and 10,000 TL Money Points for a total of 100,000 TL, Kahveci stated that this amount is far from meeting the expectations of the employees and is far from being acceptable.
General President Kahveci emphasized that the promotional agreement should be at a level that will satisfy the employees and explained the criteria that should be taken as basis:
"While it is necessary to conclude an agreement in the amount of one salary per year, such a promotion agreement is far from acceptable and far from meeting the expectations of employees."
Kahveci stated that health workers deserve a much higher promotion in return for their labor, especially when high inflation and the cost of living are taken into account.
Calling the amount of the agreement made by the Ministry of Health insufficient, Türk Sağlık-Sen called on the Ministry to immediately sit down again with the social parties.
General President Kahveci, at the end of his statement, reminded the responsibility of the Ministry and said:
"The important thing is not to make an agreement, but to sign an amount that will satisfy the employee. In this sense, we call on the Ministry and express that a new evaluation is necessary."
Turkish Health and Social Service Employees demanded the initiation of studies to immediately increase the amount of promotion in order to ensure that health and social service employees receive the return of their sweat.
