Türk Deniz-İş Union participated in the meeting organized within the scope of ILO's "Promoting Decent Work in the Maritime Sector Project". During the meeting, Turkey's preparation process for the Maritime Labor Convention (MLC, 2006) was discussed.
ANKARA - Türk Deniz-İş Union participated in an important meeting aimed at improving labor standards in the maritime sector. "Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006) Turkey Preparatory Meeting" organized within the scope of "Promoting Decent Work in the Maritime Sector Project" conducted by the International Labour Organization (ILO) was held online.
The meeting was attended by İrfan Mete, President of Türk Deniz-İş and union experts, who assessed the current situation of the Turkish maritime sector and the process of compliance with MLC 2006. This preparatory meeting is seen as an important step towards Turkey's integration into international maritime standards and the improvement of seafarers' working conditions.
