Tekgıda-İş Union signed new term collective labor agreements for its members working in Izmir Metropolitan Municipality's Iztarım and Grand Plaza enterprises. The contracts resulted in significant financial and social gains.
İZMİR - Tekgıda-İş Union has successfully concluded the new term collective bargaining agreements (CBA) for its members working at Iztarım A.Ş. and Grand Plaza, two important organizations of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. The negotiations, which started in June and were conducted separately, were completed with significant gains in favor of employees thanks to the parties' conciliatory approach.
Comprehensive Delegations at the Table
The signing meetings, held at Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Iztarım Coordination Building, were attended by comprehensive delegations from both institutions. Izmir Branch No. 7 President Ömer Atabey and Branch Staff Deniz Aydın Mazlum represented the union, while Iztarım workplace representatives Feyzi Üstün and Mustafa Karabağcı and Grand Plaza workplace representatives Erdal Vardar, Tolga Ciritoğlu and Hürkan Can Zülal were also present at the meetings.
The employer delegation was at the table with a strong participation under the leadership of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay. The delegation consisted of Ahmet Okyay, Coordinator of Subsidiaries, Öztürk Kurt, General Manager of İztarım A.Ş., Erkan Üren, SODEMSEN CBA Specialist, Mustafa Cem Esen, Assistant CBA Specialist, İbrahim Gencer, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality CBA Manager, Oben İnan, Assistant CBA Manager and Ersin Sözüer, HR Manager.
Settlement Brought Important Gains for Employees
In the joint statement made after the signing ceremony, it was stated that thanks to the constructive and conciliatory approach exhibited by the parties, important gains were achieved on behalf of the employees in accordance with the economic and social conditions of the day. It was stated that the new contracts include improvements in the wages and social rights of employees and will contribute to increasing the economic welfare of İztarım and Grand Plaza employees.
Tekgıda-İş Union wished that the new term collective bargaining agreements signed will be beneficial to the entire union family, especially its members, and to the Iztarım and Grand Plaza families of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. This success is considered an indicator of the union's organized power in Izmir and the positive dialogue it has established with local governments.
