Strong Support from HAK-İŞ to Internship and Apprenticeship Insurance Victims: "Rights are not given, they are taken!"

ANKARA - HAK-İŞ, one of the largest labor confederations in Turkey, listened to the voices of internship and apprenticeship insurance victims. On August 18, 2025, President Mahmut Arslan hosted Müslüm Alagöz, President of the Federation of Internship and Apprenticeship Insurance Victims, and the accompanying delegation at HAK-İŞ Headquarters, where he listened to their problems and pledged his full support for their struggle.

Among the participants of the summit were important names from the union management such as HAK-İŞ General Secretary Eda Akbulut and Öz Petrol-İş President Kudret Örgel. Presidents of Istanbul, Ankara and Afyon associations were present in the federation delegation. The main agenda item of the meeting was the steps that could be taken to solve the internship and apprenticeship insurance grievances affecting tens of thousands of people.

Arslan Calls on Victims to "Continue the Struggle"

During the meeting, HAK-İŞ President Mahmut Arslan participated in the chat room organized by the Federation of Internship and Apprenticeship Insurance Victims on the X (formerly Twitter) social media account and made important statements. Delivering an uplifting speech to the victims, Arslan emphasized the importance of the issue in the trade union literature. "It is a difficult process, we are not talking about an easy job," Arslan said, adding, "There is a concept in the trade union literature: Rights are not given, they are taken. It is necessary to struggle to get it," he said. These words once again demonstrated the importance of the struggle of the masses in search of their rights.

Sharing that as HAK-İŞ, they are ready to contribute to any work to be done for the inclusion of internship and apprenticeship victims in long-term insurance branches, Arslan said, "We had a long and useful meeting with our Federation President and his delegation. I hope that we will get the results of this together in the future. We say we continue the struggle," he said, giving hope to the victims.

Federation Thanks HAK-İŞ

Federation President Müslüm Alagöz thanked HAK-İŞ Confederation for bringing their problems to the agenda and supporting them. Alagöz stated that it is of great importance to work together with HAK-İŞ to solve the problems and that this cooperation is one of the most important steps to be taken to eliminate the grievances.

This meeting proved once again that the trade union movement is a strong supporter of internship and apprenticeship insurance victims in their quest for their rights. With this solidarity, the victims signaled that they will continue their struggle more strongly.
