Sağlık-Sen President Mahmut Faruk Doğan reacted to the wage injustice between statuses in Bolu and Düzce Provincial Divan Meetings. Stating that he worked for 18 years in hospitals, Doğan said, "We want the right to the diploma, we will present the payrolls to the conscience of the authorities."
BOLU / DÜZCE - Sağlık-Sen President Mahmut Faruk Doğan attended the Provincial Divan Meeting organized by Bolu and Düzce Branches of the union at Sağlık-Sen Taksim Hotel and made important statements about wage injustice in the field of health and social services, labor peace and collective bargaining gains.
President Doğan addressed one of the most burning problems of working life, the wage imbalance between statuses, and made a harsh criticism based on his own experiences:
"This should not be the reward for years of labor. I have worked in the hospital for 18 years. I know very well what kind of struggle is going on in the emergency room, in the orthopedic service. Our problem is not in the wages that anyone receives, but in the injustice. We oppose this. We will not let this issue go. We want the right to the diploma. We will keep this issue on the agenda with our struggle. We will present the payrolls to the conscience of the authorities."
Doğan emphasized that the working peace in hospitals and 112 emergency health services stations is gradually deteriorating due to this wage difference.
The General President, who also evaluated the union understanding of Sağlık-Sen, stated that they act with the vision of serving 280 thousand members. "We provide services that touch our members with the understanding that what comes from the member goes to the member. We have a good reputation in this regard. We leave works of art. Because our problem is to serve our 280 thousand members," he said.
Vice President Yasin Barutcu also supported this view, stating that the union, with its strong organizational structure, achieved significant gains in the 8th Term Collective Bargaining process and that they "work with the power we get from our 280 thousand members."
Explaining the gains of the collective agreement in detail, Doğan drew attention to the increase obtained especially for health professionals working at night. He said that they made an important start with the 10 percent increase for night shifts. Doğan said, "Now, starting from January 2026, night work will be paid with a 10 percent increase. This opened a door. Our struggle will continue to increase this rate. From now on, we will say that the salary of night workers should be different from daytime. Now we will bring this to the agenda," he said, emphasizing that the struggle for increasing the compensation for night work will continue.
Taking the floor at the meeting, Bolu Branch President Sami Yılmaz and Düzce Branch President Cihan Özal thanked General President Mahmut Faruk Doğan and his management for breaking new ground in trade unionism and for their work on behalf of social unionism, which has been well received in the field.
The meeting ended after the questions of the members of the organization were answered by the Chairman and Deputy Chairman.
