Memur-Sen reacted strongly to the genocide and occupation in Gaza on the second anniversary of October 7. In the statement titled "Honor of Humanity", the silence of the international community was condemned and it was emphasized that consciences will remain on guard until Palestine is free.
One of Turkey's largest labor confederations, Memur-Sen, reacted to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the occupation, siege and genocide policies that have been going on since October 7th with a strong statement on its social media accounts. While condemning the silence of the international community against this persecution that has been going on for two years, the Confederation declared that their conscience will be on watch.
Memur-Sen's statement drew attention to the dimensions of the human tragedy in Gaza. The statement said, "For two years, children have been dying under bombs in Gaza, mothers have been burying their children, humanity has been going through a great test". With these statements, the unspeakable suffering of the civilian population, especially children and mothers, was brought to the public agenda.
The Confederation harshly criticized the attitude of international institutions and states towards Israel's policies of occupation, siege and genocide. The statement said, "The international community is still silent in the face of Israel's occupation, siege and genocide" and that this silence is unacceptable.
Memur-Sen emphasized that they will not remain silent against this persecution. The phrase "but we have not remained silent, we will not remain silent, we will not be silent!" in the statement showed the confederation's unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.
One of the main messages of the statement was the importance of the resistance in Gaza for all humanity. Memur-Sen emphasized the righteousness of the resistance by saying "Gaza resistance is the struggle of human dignity to survive". Finally, "Until Palestine is free, until justice is done, our consciences will be on guard", underlining that the Palestinian cause will continue to be supported until the final victory is achieved.
The statement was widely shared on social media with the hashtags #Gaza #Palestine #7October #StandUpForGaza.
