Medya-İş Union signed collective labor agreements with new gains in five public workplaces subject to the KÇP, including the Mint, MoNE and Highways Printing Presses.
ANKARA/ISTANBUL - The Media Workers' Union (Medya-İş) announced that it has signed collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) with new gains in the printing workplaces of five important public institutions subject to the Public Framework Protocol (PFP). After a long and determined process, the union has secured rights for its members in a wide range of sectors, from the Mint to the Highways.
The signed collective labor agreements aim to increase the welfare of Medya-İş members with new social and financial rights added on top of the base wages determined by the Public Framework Protocol. The public institutions where collective labor agreements were signed are as follows:
General Directorate of Mint and Stamp Printing House
M.E.B. State Books Revolving Fund Directorate
M.E.B. Revolving Fund Enterprise
General Directorate of Highways Printing House
Devlet Su İşleri General Directorate Printing Office
In a statement released by the union, it was emphasized that the contracts were signed with "new gains" and that these gains represent a significant improvement for public sector workers. Although the details of the gains have not been fully disclosed to the public, they are generally known to include wage increases as well as improvements in benefits, bonuses and working conditions.
The Media Workers Union thanked everyone who contributed to the signing of the collective labor agreements, especially all its members, for their strong and determined stance throughout the process. The union wished the signed contracts to be beneficial for all parties.
This CBA success is a concrete demonstration of the union's struggle to protect and improve the rights of public service workers in the printing and publishing sector.
