Fatih Demirel, President of Lider Büro Sen, criticized the union, stating that Tezkoop-İş failed to fulfill its collective agreement promises. Members were disappointed that contracts were not signed even after the Public Framework Protocol.
ANKARA - Fatih Demirel, President of Lider Büro Sen, has harshly criticized Tezkoop-İş Union, which claims to have the best collective bargaining agreement in Turkey. Demirel reacted to the fact that although a month has passed since the Public Framework Protocol (PFP), collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) have not been signed in many institutions where Tezkoop-İş is authorized, and stated that this situation has caused great disappointment and loss of trust among the members.
Demir Demirel argued that the statements made by Tezkoop-İş management in the past that "we will make the best contract in Turkey" have come to naught at this point, and emphasized that these delays prevented workers from receiving their rights. The union's failure to take a concrete step while waiting for the salary differences and social rights of the employees has created a serious unrest among the worker base.
"Stalling Tactics Damage Members' Confidence"
According to Demirel's statement, Tezkoop-İş management's continuously giving different dates and keeping workers waiting has deeply shaken the trust in the union. The aggrieved members said, "Each time, dates were given, promises were not kept. We don't believe it anymore, the union is officially stalling its members."
Stating that this environment of uncertainty brought not only new rights for workers but also retroactive rights losses, Demirel argued that this stalemate damaged the reputation of Tezkoop-İş in the eyes of workers. Workers argued that their union failed to fulfill its mission and preferred to stall them instead of defending their rights.
"We No Longer Want Words, We Want Action"
In the statement, Demirel, who, as Lider Büro Sen, expressed the common voice of the workers in the institutions where Tezkoop-İş is authorized, emphasized that the most basic demands are the urgent signing of collective labor agreements, the elimination of retroactive rights losses and the transparent conduct of the union process. "We want to see action, not words anymore. We want to be paid for our labor."
