The 15th Ordinary General Assembly of Konya Branch of Koop-Is Union was held: "Historic Strike Success and Emphasis on Tax Justice"

KONYA - The 15th Ordinary General Assembly of Koop-İş Union Konya Branch was held with great enthusiasm in Konya, the city of tolerance and love. Koop-İş Union President Eyüp Alemdar, who attended the General Assembly, touched upon the union's important struggles in the recent period and its goals for the future in his speech.

Public Sector Framework Protocol and Honorable Stance in the Strike Process

In his speech at the General Assembly, President Eyüp Alemdar expressed his great happiness and pride and underlined the honorable and determined stance of the union both at the table and in the field despite all the difficulties experienced during the Public Framework Protocol negotiations.

Alemdar emphasized the strike process initiated after the failure to reach an agreement in the collective labor agreement negotiations with the Ministry of Family and Social Services, especially for the members working in Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations (SYDV). He reminded once again that this strike, which was initiated by approximately 9 thousand employees in 1003 workplaces, was successful with the participation of over 95% of the members and that this process was a historical success for Koop-İş Union.

The Demand for "Tax Justice" and the Determination to Fight

In his speech, President Eyüp Alemdar reiterated the demand for "fairness in taxation" and underlined that those who earn more should be taxed more and those who earn less should be taxed less. In this direction, he stated that Koop-İş Union will resolutely continue its actions on democratic and legitimate grounds. This emphasized the union's aim to have an impact not only on collective bargaining agreements but also on the country's general economic and social policies.
