As part of the 8th Term Collective Bargaining Agreement process, KESK visited public institutions, political parties and labor organizations in Izmir and Giresun to publicize the demands of working people.
KESK's On-Site Intervention in the CBA Process: Institution Visits and Common Demands in Izmir and Giresun
The Confederation of Public Employees' Trade Unions (KESK) made extensive contacts in Izmir and Giresun in order to collect the demands of the laborers directly from the field and make them public within the scope of the 8th Term Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) process.
Solidarity Emphasis in Izmir
KESK Executive Committee members Sema Pınar and Erdal Karakuş and the delegation, consisting of members of the CEC, met with workplaces, labor and professional organizations and political parties on the first day of their visit to Izmir. During the meetings, mutual evaluations were made on the commonization of the CBA struggle, clarifying the economic and social demands of the workers and strengthening the process with suggestions from the field. At the end of the day, the main demands of the confederation were shared with the public in a press statement.
Local Solidarity Expands in Giresun
DİSK, Giresun Local Media, Giresun Women's Association, Giresun Women's Association, CHP and Left Party were met in Giresun with the participation of Ahmet Karagöz, Co-President of KESK. During the meeting with the Mayor of Giresun and municipal executives, issues of cooperation with local governments on the grounds of labor struggle were discussed.
A joint press statement was organized with KESK Giresun Branches Platform and Giresun Labor and Democracy Forces after the visits. "The CBA must be raised not only at the table, but on every street and in every workplace where working people live," the statement emphasized.
KESK: Our Demands Will Grow in the Field
KESK announced that they will continue their visits to institutions in different provinces of Turkey in the coming period, strengthening the demands of public laborers and guiding the CBA process with the experience from the field.
