KESK 11th Term 2nd Ordinary Consultative Assembly Meeting Completed Successfully

Ankara - The Confederation of Public Employees' Trade Unions (KESK) successfully concluded its two-day 11th Period 2nd Ordinary Consultative Assembly Meeting with an inspiring closing speech by KESK Co-Chair Ayfer Koçak. The meeting, in which the political and trade union process in which Turkey and public laborers are going through was comprehensively evaluated, was of great importance in terms of determining the roadmap of struggle for the coming period.

The Consultative Assembly, held in the capital Ankara, where critical decisions were taken for the future of public laborers, witnessed intense discussions under two main headings: the current state of the union struggle and strategies for the future. KESK delegates analyzed in depth the effects of political and economic developments in Turkey on public workers and developed solutions to the current problems with a common mind.

On the first day of the meeting, under the heading "political-union process", the difficult economic conditions the country is going through, transformations in public services, anti-labor and anti-democracy policies, and pressures on trade union rights and freedoms were discussed. Delegates discussed the main problems faced by public workers, such as the loss of purchasing power due to inflation, precarious forms of employment and obstacles to organizing. In the evaluations made, it was emphasized that the current situation is not sustainable for public laborers and urgent solutions should be produced.

On the second day, under the title of "planning for the coming period", KESK's union activities, action and event calendar and organizing activities were discussed. At the meeting, consensus was reached on the steps to be taken to defend the rights of public laborers, to ensure secure employment and to raise the demand for a decent living wage. KESK's determination to find solutions to the problems of its members, strengthen union solidarity and improve the quality of public services was once again confirmed.

The meeting ended with a closing speech by KESK Co-Chair Ayfer Koçak. In his speech, Koçak stated that the productive discussions and decisions taken during the two days constituted an important ground for the future of the union struggle. Emphasizing the importance of the united and organized struggle of public workers, Koçak invited all members and friends of labor to further expand the struggle for rights and justice.

The enthusiastic slogans of "Long Live Our Organized Struggle!" and "Long Live KESK!" that filled the hall at the end of the meeting reflected the determination of public workers to resist and the fighting spirit of KESK. This meeting signaled that KESK will take stronger and more decisive steps in the coming period.
