Ankara - Mahmut Arslan, President of HAKİŞ, one of Turkey's leading labor confederations, held a critical meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on July 22, 2025. The main agenda item of the meeting was the Public Sector Collective Labor Agreements Framework Agreement Protocol process, which directly concerns the rights of millions of public sector workers, and HAKİŞ's demands in this regard.

Vital Negotiation for Public Sector Workers

The meeting, which took place at the Presidential Complex, is of great importance before the collective labor agreements that public sector workers are eagerly awaiting. HAKİŞ President Mahmut Arslan's conveying the latest situation in the Public Sector Collective Labor Agreements Framework Agreement Protocol process and the demands of the confederation directly to President Erdoğan was considered as a strategic step in terms of expressing union demands at the highest level. At the meeting, HAKİŞ's expectations regarding wage increases, social rights, working conditions and other personal rights of public workers were presented in a comprehensive manner.

HAKİŞ's Mission on behalf of Public Employees

As one of the key actors in the labor movement in Turkey, the HAKİŞ Confederation plays an active role in defending and improving the rights of public sector workers. The Public Framework Protocol is a fundamental agreement that determines the salaries, bonuses, social benefits and other working conditions of millions of public workers every year. Therefore, this meeting with President Erdoğan may be decisive in making decisions that will shape the collective bargaining processes in the coming period and directly affect the economic and social welfare of public workers.

Eyes on the Results of the Interview

Labor unions and the public sector are following the results of this critical meeting with great interest. The issues discussed and possible agreements reached during the talks are expected to be announced to the public in the near future. HAKİŞ's determined stance to protect and improve the rights of its members and all public workers has once again reinforced the pioneering role of the union in this process. It is a matter of curiosity to what extent the decisions that will emerge at the end of the negotiations will meet the expectations of public workers and how they will reflect on labor peace.
