Good News for Pilots from Hava İş Union: "Loss of Cockpit License Insurance Coverages Doubled!"

Ankara - The Board of Directors of the Civil Aviation Union of Turkey (Hava-İş) announced that a significant improvement has been achieved in the "Loss of Cockpit License Insurance", which has been on the agenda for a long time and was among the demands of the 28th Term Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). As a result of the negotiations, it was decided to double the existing loss of license insurance coverage limits. This achievement means a major increase in security for pilots and other cockpit workers.

An Important Victory in the 28th Term CBA Negotiations

Hava-Is Union brought its demand for "Loss of Cockpit License Insurance", one of the most sensitive issues of its members, to the table with the senior management of Turkish Airlines (THY) as part of the 28th Term Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations. Thanks to protracted negotiations and the steadfastness of the union, a stronger financial protection shield against occupational risks for pilots and other cockpit personnel has been established.

This improvement is especially vital for cockpit crew members who may face the risk of losing their flight licenses due to health problems. Doubling the collateral limits will significantly reduce victimization in the event of a possible loss of license and will enable employees to look to the future with more confidence.
