DİSK/GENEL-İŞ continues its trainings for its members without slowing down: Three-Day Program Begins at Buca Municipality

İZMİR - The General-Labor Union, affiliated to the Confederation of Revolutionary Trade Unions (DISK), continues its training activities in order to increase its members' union awareness and knowledge of workers' rights. A three-day comprehensive training program for members working in the Buca Municipality affiliated to the General-Is Izmir Branch No. 6 has started.

The first day's sessions of the training program, planned in six separate groups, were successfully completed. In the trainings given by union executives and experts, critical issues that will strengthen members' awareness of struggle and teach them their rights in working life were discussed.

1. Class Consciousness, Principles and Policies: To strengthen the class identity of members, to convey the union's historical mission and current policies.

2. Basic Concepts in Working Life: Detailed explanation of basic legal and trade union concepts regulating working life such as Labor Law, Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), right to strike.

3. Organization: The importance of union organizing, methods of increasing organized power in the workplace and the difficulties encountered in organizing processes.

Genel-İş Union aims not only to protect the economic rights of its members through such training programs, but also to improve union democracy and the historical consciousness of the labor movement. The program, which will continue for three days, aims to significantly increase the unionization skills of Buca Municipality workers.
