Sağlık-Sen President Mahmut Faruk Doğan said "We want the right of diploma and labor" at the youth branches meeting. He gave important messages about the personal rights of health and social service professionals, non-profit union services and the struggle covering 40 professional groups.
Sağlık-Sen President Mahmut Faruk Doğan, in his speech at the Youth Branch Consultation Meeting, stated that they will demand the return of years of training and sweat of the brow of health professionals to the end. Doğan emphasized non-profit service and competition in the union struggle.
Sağlık-Sen, the authorized union of the health and social service branch, discussed its future vision with young people. President General Mahmut Faruk Doğan attended the Youth Branch 1st Regional Consultation Meeting and explained both the union's stance and the goals for the upcoming period. Doğan, who held consultations with the youth branch members attending the meeting, determined the main focus of the struggle as "the right to diploma and labor."
In his speech, President Doğan drew attention to the difficult training processes of health professionals and emphasized that the union's most fundamental demand is the compensation for this labor.
"As Sağlık-Sen, we have always demanded the right to the diploma from our interlocutors, because everyone knows that health professionals do not get those diplomas easily. We want the right to the labor of health and social service professionals, their years of education, and their efforts to pass the university exam. We will continue to fight for this until the end."
This statement shows the determination of university graduates to make arrangements in the career ladder, personal rights and remuneration systems of health workers in accordance with their diplomas.
Mentioning the union stance of Memur-Sen and Sağlık-Sen at the meeting, Doğan defended the importance of competition understanding in order to increase the quality of services. Doğan stated that unions competing with each other in providing services to employees would ultimately benefit employees.
Doğan summarized Sağlık-Sen's service approach towards its members as follows: "The system needs to put responsibility on unions. Competition leads to service and in this case employees win. We want to establish this understanding. Sağlık-Sen does not aim to make a profit in any of its services, whether it is hotel or daycare center. We want to provide services entirely for the benefit of our employees."
Stating that Sağlık-Sen is not a desk-based union but comes directly from the field, Doğan emphasized the union's organizing power.
"As Sağlık-Sen, we are in the nurses' room, 112 stations, social service institutions. In other words, we are in every room. We are working for the rights of almost 40 professional groups by sweating one-on-one in the field. We strive to be the voice and voice of all health and social service professionals."
The General President added that the important gains achieved in the last collective bargaining processes, such as night working compensation and in-kind clothing allowance, touched every employee sweating in the field.
Sağlık-Sen Youth Branch President Emrah Göztepe emphasized the role of young people in the union struggle. Göztepe said, "We are aware of the responsibility on our shoulders. We strive to do more than we can for the employees," he said, noting that young cadres actively support the struggle for rights and gave a message of unity and solidarity.
Sağlık-Sen, with this consultation meeting with its young members, underlined that it will continue its struggle to protect and improve the rights of health and social service workers with determination in the coming period.
