Demands of Sağlık-Sen at the Collective Bargaining Table: "We Struggle to Solve the Problems of All Health and Social Service Professionals"

The demands of Sağlık-Sen for the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the 8th Term were negotiated with the Public Employer Committee. President Mahmut Faruk Doğan stated that they struggle for the solution of the problems of health and social service workers.

Demands of Sağlık-Sen at the Collective Bargaining Table: "We Struggle to Solve the Problems of All Health and Social Service Professionals"

ANKARA - Within the scope of the 8th Term Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations, which will determine the financial and social rights of public employees for the years 2026-2027, Sağlık-Sen's demands in the health and social services branch were negotiated with the Public Employer Committee at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. Sağlık-Sen President Mahmut Faruk Doğan said, "We sat at the table with reasonable demands that reflect the realities of the field. Each of our demands is valuable to us."

Sat at the Table with a Comprehensive Delegation

The negotiation meeting took place at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, with the wide participation of union and ministry bureaucrats. On behalf of Sağlık-Sen, President Mahmut Faruk Doğan, Vice Presidents Sinan Kuluöztürk, Yasin Barutcu, İdris Baykan, Mustafa Irgatoğlu and Abdullah Duman, as well as legal advisors and legislation experts were present. The Ministry was represented by Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security Faruk Özçelik and relevant bureaucrats. The meeting was also attended by Ali Yalçın, President of Memur-Sen and Hacı Bayram Tonbul, Vice President for Collective Bargaining, who closely followed the process.

All Requests Presented One by One with Reasons

At the meeting, the demands prepared by the Health and Social Services Union (Sağlık-Sen) delegation were presented to the Public Employer's Committee one by one and with their justifications, accompanied by a slide presentation. The union brought to the table the problems experienced by all professionals working in the field of health and social services, from physicians to nurses, paramedics to social workers, and their solution proposals. The demands included critical items such as improving wages, additional payments, protecting personal rights, improving working conditions and preventing violence against health workers.

After the meeting, President Mahmut Faruk Doğan made statements about the negotiations and said that Sağlık-Sen has brought the real demands from the field to the table. "We are struggling to solve the important problems of physicians, nurses, midwives, paramedics, anesthesia technicians, social workers and all health and social service professionals at this table," Doğan said. Emphasizing that this struggle concerns not only the rights of employees but also the future of the health system, Doğan said, "Every item that we will turn into gains here is also important for the future of the health system. We are struggling with this awareness."

It was stated that mutual evaluations were made on the proposals between the parties at the meeting and that the negotiations will continue in the coming period. Sağlık-Sen gave the message that it will continue its struggle for a collective agreement that will protect the rights of all health and social service professionals in the best way.
