Turkish Education Union President Talip Geylan called on President Erdoğan from Rize to make 25 thousand additional appointments for teachers waiting for KPSS appointments in 2024. "The rightful and reasonable demand should not be kept silent," he said, addressing the Ministry of National Education and the Treasury. Details and the demand of those waiting for appointment are in our news.
Turkish Education Union President Talip Geylan brought the demand for 25 thousand additional appointments voiced by thousands of teachers from Rize, who are waiting for appointment with 2024 KPSS, to the agenda of the Parliament. Geylan called on President Erdoğan and Minister of National Education Tekin, saying, "This extremely justified and reasonable demand should not be kept silent."
28 September 2025 - ANKARA - Hundreds of thousands of prospective teachers waiting to be appointed to the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) continue to wait in the hope of being appointed following the results of the 2024 Public Personnel Selection Exam (KPSS). In this process, the appointment requests were delivered to the highest authority, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, through Türk Eğitim-Sen President Talip Geylan.
General President Talip Geylan, in a statement on his social media account, brought to the attention of the public and authorities the demand of teachers who took the 2024 KPSS and are waiting to be appointed. Geylan emphasized how strong the demand is, stating that this justified cry of teacher candidates was raised from Rize, the hometown of President Erdoğan.
Turk Eğitim-Sen leader Geylan noted that teachers waiting to be appointed have a clear and concrete expectation: 25 thousand additional teacher appointments.
Geylan tagged President Erdoğan directly in his message and said, "Our teachers, who are waiting to be appointed with 2024 KPSS, addressed Mr. President from Rize and asked for 25 thousand additional appointments. President Mr. @RTErdogan should not remain silent to this extremely justified and reasonable demand rising from his hometown."
This call will not only alleviate the despair of teachers waiting for appointments, but will also contribute to reducing the shortage of teachers in schools across Turkey. It is known that new appointments are critical to improve the quality of education and to prevent empty classes.
Talip Geylan also addressed his call to the Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance. Considering that teacher appointments are a process that requires the approval not only of MoNE but also of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance due to budgetary constraints, Geylan's move indicates that the budgetary side of the issue should also be resolved.
Thousands of teachers waiting for appointments are trying to make their voices heard with the hashtag #Rizede2024EkAtama on social media. This label indicates the urgency of the demand and that it covers all prospective teachers in Turkey, regardless of region.
Turk Eğitim Sen is waiting for the approval of the number of 25 thousand additional appointments and the start of the process as soon as possible in order for teachers waiting for appointments to realize their dreams and strengthen the country's education system.
