Harsh Reaction from Büro Memur-Sen to the Ministry of Justice Promotion Agreement: "Unacceptable!"

DÜZCE - In his speech at the Düzce Branch and Workplace Representatives Consultation Meeting, Yusuf Yazgan, President of Büro Memur-Sen, reacted strongly to the bank promotion agreement signed between the Ministry of Justice and Vakıfbank. Yazgan stated that the agreement did not protect the interests of the employees and announced that as a union, they put a note of opposition to this agreement.

Promotion Deal "Unrealistic" and "Unacceptable"

Speaking at the meeting attended by members of the Board of Directors of Düzce Branch, former branch president Mahmut Gazi Yılmaz, workplace representatives and organization members, General President Yusuf Yazgan emphasized that the promotion tender between the Ministry of Justice and Vakıfbank, which will cover 212,500 personnel, was signed without taking into account the economic conditions of the day and the interests of the employees. Yazgan said, "As Büro Memur-Sen, we stated that we would never consent to such an agreement. We reacted to the signing of an agreement that is far from reality, which is less than the institutions with fewer employees, and stated that the agreement is not suitable for today's economic conditions and that it does not sufficiently protect the rights of the employees and that we put our opposition annotation."

Yazgan reminded that they had expressed their reactions and called on the Ministry before the agreement was signed.

Criticism of the Public Employer in the Collective Bargaining Process

General President Yazgan also made statements about the developments before, during and after the 8th Term Collective Bargaining Agreement. He said that they brought the demands of public servants in the service branch to the table with 170 articles, but the process ended in disagreement and was brought to the arbitration due to the public employer's "attitude that ignored the just demands and did not favor a solution."

Yazgan, referring to the struggles during the 8th Term Collective Bargaining process, stated that more than 25 thousand public servants from 81 provinces of Turkey gathered in Ankara and shouted their rights from the Anatolian Square and that although they made two calls to Minister Mehmet Şimşek in front of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, these calls were not responded to and instead of producing solutions to the problems, the problems were ignored.

"Civil Servants Lost Faith in Law No. 4688"

Drawing attention to the inadequacy of the current union system in his speech, Yazgan stated that the Law No. 4688 on Public Servants' Trade Unions and the current collective bargaining system are insufficient to deliver the rights of the laborers. Yazgan stated that civil servants have lost their belief that this law will solve their problems and that they do not want to participate in the next collective bargaining negotiations with the current law.

"We will continue to follow every demand"

Saying that Office Officer-Sen has been struggling for rights on behalf of public servants since the first day it was founded and has never given up the struggle for 30 years, Yazgan touched on problems such as the erosion of civil servant salaries against inflation and the decrease in purchasing power.

General President Yazgan listed the demands they are waiting for a solution: "We have issues that were promised but not realized. One of the most important of these is the 3600 additional indicator. In addition, we have demands such as the abolition of the auxiliary services class, rent and housing assistance for civil servants, and the prevention of violence in the public sector. We will continue to follow each of our demands and turn them into gains."

At the meeting, Deputy General President Kaan Çetinbaş and Vice President Ahmet Kızıl also gave information about the union's activities. Düzce Branch President Mustafa Enis İnan gave information about the activities of the branch.
