Türk Metal and Petrol-İş unions signed the 21st Term Collective Labor Agreement with MKE A.Ş. The agreement aims to contribute to labor peace and productivity by securing the rights of MKE employees.
ANKARA/KIRIKKALE - The 21st Term Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which concerns thousands of workers at the Machinery and Chemical Industry Inc. (MKE A.S.), was signed with the participation of the Turkish Metal Union and Petrol-Is Union at a ceremony held at MKE Headquarters. This agreement, which took place on August 20, 2025, is described as the beginning of a new era at MKE.
Delegations headed by Uysal Altundağ, President of the Turkish Metalworkers Union, and Süleyman Akyüz, President of the Petrol-İş Union, represented the labor unions at the contract table. The employer side was represented by İlhami Keleş, General Manager of MKE A.Ş., and Adnan Çiçek, Secretary General of the Turkish Heavy Industry and Service Sector Public Employers' Union (TÜHİS). The signing ceremony was also attended by both unions' headquarters executives, branch presidents, representatives and senior experts from TÜHİS.
In the first speech at the ceremony, TÜHİS Secretary General Adnan Çiçek expressed his satisfaction with the successful completion of the contract process and thanked all parties for their constructive contributions to the process. Speaking afterwards, Uysal Altundağ, President of the Turkish Metal Union, emphasized that this step taken at the MKE workplaces, which also played an important role in the establishment of the union, will make a great contribution to the protection of the rights and interests of the members and to the increase of peace and productivity in the workplaces. Petrol-İş General President Süleyman Akyüz also wished that this contract, which was "the result of long and hard work," would be beneficial for the parties, their organizations and MKE employees.
In the last part of the speeches, İlhami Keleş, General Manager of MKE A.Ş., shared information about the current situation, ongoing investments and future targets of the organization. Following the speeches, the 21st Term Collective Labor Agreement was officially signed between the parties. While this agreement is expected to provide significant improvements in the economic and social rights of the workers working at MKE A.Ş., it is also expected to contribute to labor peace.
It was wished that the signed collective labor agreement would be beneficial for MKE A.Ş. employees, unions and the enterprise.
