Birleşik Metal-İş Starts Collective Bargaining Negotiations with MESS

The Group Collective Bargaining Agreement process for the 2025-2027 period, which concerns tens of thousands of workers in the metal industry, has begun. Birleşik Metal İş Union submitted its contract proposal to the Turkish Metal Industrialists' Union (MESS) on September 15, 2025. With this step, negotiations in the sector became official.

Talks Schedule to be Announced

The date of the first meeting between the parties will be set by MESS as soon as possible and negotiations will begin. This process is seen as a critical turning point for the working conditions, wages and social rights of workers in the metal sector, which is strategically important for the Turkish economy.

Delegations Make First Contact

Taliphan Kıymaz, General Secretary, Suat Terzi, Collective Bargaining Office Manager and Berna Acar, Collective Bargaining Specialist from United Metalworkers' Union attended the proposal submission ceremony held at MESS Headquarters. MESS was represented by Fatih Ay, Secretary General, Şeyda Biscaya, General Counsel, Ali Kemal Düzova, Group Director of Public and Member Relations, and Erdoğan Boldaz, Project Director. This first meeting was the first step of an intensive negotiation marathon that will begin in the coming days.
