A Critical Step by Memur-Sen in the 8th Term Collective Bargaining Negotiations

Ankara - The negotiations for the 8th Term Collective Bargaining Agreement, which will determine the rights and demands of public servants, have reached an important stage. According to the statement made by the Confederation of Civil Servants, as of today, the preliminary negotiations of the offers of the four main service branches have officially started. These negotiations are considered as one of the first and most critical steps towards improving the financial and social rights of public laborers.

This process, led by Memur-Sen, one of the largest trade union confederations, is being followed with great attention as it will directly affect the future living standards of millions of public servants. Preliminary negotiations mean that the demands determined as a result of the detailed work of the unions are presented to the public employer unions by the authorized union representatives and the first evaluations are made.

The service branches and authorized unions for which preliminary negotiations were held today are as follows:

1. Transportation Services Branch: The rights and demands of public servants in this field are being brought to the table by Ulaştırma Memur-Sen (@UCMSGenelMerkez), the authorized union in the sector. Working conditions, personal rights and financial improvements in the transportation sector are the main agenda items of these negotiations.

2. Bayındır Memur-Sen (@BayndrMemurSen), the authorized union, represents the expectations of public servants working in this broad service branch. The specific conditions and demands of civil servants in infrastructure, construction and rural services are at the center of the negotiations.

3. Agriculture and Forestry Services Branch: Toç Bir-Sen (@TocBirSenGM) is taking a strong position at the table for the rights of public employees working in agriculture and forestry. Difficult working conditions in the agriculture and forestry sector, additional payments and professional improvements are among the union's priority issues.

4. Education, Training and Science Services Branch: The expectations of public servants in the field of education, training and science, one of the most crowded public service branches of our country, are expressed by the authorized union Eğitim Bir-Sen (@EgitimBirSen). The main agenda items of this branch are the financial rights of teachers, academics and other education workers, additional indicators, career steps and demands for their professional development.

Memur-Sen Confederation, through its unions authorized in the service branches, is conducting these negotiations with the main objectives of increasing the economic welfare level of public servants, improving their working conditions, securing their social rights and supporting their career development. The Confederation stated that it will work with determination to achieve the best results at the collective bargaining table by defending the rights and demands of public servants in the strongest and most determined way.
