Ankara - The 8th Term Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations, which will cover the next two years (2026-2027) for public employees and pensioners, have officially started. In this critical process, unions defending the rights and interests of education workers brought their demands, which are the product of a long and meticulous work, to the table. The problems of all education employees, from teachers to academics, from auxiliary services personnel to branch managers and administrative staff, were identified in detail and a comprehensive list of demands was created. Turkish Education-Sen and other authorized unions took part in the negotiations to voice the expectations of public employees.

Clear Stance from Turkish Education Union: Gains to be Protected, Problems to be Solved

Our union Turkish Education and Training Union, which acts with the mission of protecting and developing the rights and interests of education employees, has once again demonstrated its determination to preserve the gains it has achieved in the past and to ensure new gains. Turk Eğitim-Sen demonstrated its strong stance at the table by sharing its special offers for the education service branch with the public. It was stated that the demands file, prepared with great sensitivity and detail by the authorized bodies of the union, will constitute an important step in solving the problems of public employees that have been accumulating for years. In the negotiations, the expectations of education workers regarding their financial, social and personal rights will be voiced loudly. In particular, it is expected that issues such as improving wages that are eroding in the face of inflation, improving working conditions and establishing a fair wage system will be among the priority agenda items.

Key Demands for 2026-2027

  1. The Collective Bargaining Agreement directly concerns approximately two and a half million public employees and over two million public pensioners. It is aimed to evaluate the demands presented specifically for education employees within the framework of the general collective agreement and to provide improvements that will be reflected in all public employees.

In this process, unions are addressing not only wage increases, but also structural problems such as the abolition of the interview system, ensuring the transition to staff, eliminating the victimization of additional indicators, and solving the problems experienced in the transfer and assignment processes. Union officials underlined that they will not only pursue salary increases in the negotiations, but also all kinds of arrangements that will increase working peace and motivation.

The negotiations between the public employer's committee and union representatives at the collective bargaining table will gain momentum in the coming weeks. The public and especially public employees are following the results of these negotiations with great attention. Türk Eğitim-Sen, with its comprehensive file and determined stance, will continue to fight with all its strength to meet the expectations of education workers at the highest level.
