According to the July inflation data announced by Turkstat, the monthly increase was recorded as 2.06 percent and the annual inflation as 33.52 percent. Food prices increased by 27.95 percent on an annual basis.
Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced the inflation data for July 2025. Accordingly, the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 2.06 percent in July compared to the previous month, while annual inflation was realized as 33.52 percent. The increase in inflation since the beginning of the year was 19.08 percent.
Food, Transportation and Housing Prices Stand Out
Among the main expenditure groups, the highest annual increase was recorded as 62.01 percent in housing, 27.95 percent in food and non-alcoholic beverages and 26.57 percent in transportation. On a monthly basis, housing prices increased by 5.78 percent, transportation by 2.89 percent and food by 0.07 percent.
Prices Rise in 120 Titles
Prices increased in 120 out of 143 main headings followed within the scope of CPI. CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold increased by 1.82 percent on a monthly basis and 33.77 percent on an annual basis.
Şimşek: "Inflation at 44-Month Low"
Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek emphasized on his social media account that the disinflation process is progressing in line with the targets. Şimşek said, "While monthly inflation was 2.06 percent, annual inflation decreased to 33.5 percent. Food inflation dropped to 28 percent, and services inflation fell below 50 percent for the first time in three years. We will continue our program with determination for permanent price stability."
The authorities pointed out that the decline in inflation will improve the investment climate and financial predictability.
