HAK-İŞ and TÜRK-İŞ reached an agreement with the government in the collective bargaining negotiations. 600 thousand public sector workers are signing the contract today.
A compromise was reached in the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations concerning approximately 600 thousand public sector workers. The raise negotiations conducted by HAK-İŞ and TÜRK-İŞ concluded with an agreement after the last negotiations with the employer side. The parties will sign today at a ceremony to be held at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
"Our Minister Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan will attend the Public Framework Protocol Signing Ceremony with the participation of TÜRK-İŞ and HAK-İŞ delegations," the Ministry of Labor and Social Security said in a statement.
Atalay: Unions Decide
TÜRK-İŞ President Ergün Atalay had recently met with Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz at the Presidential Complex. "The government's latest offer is not 100 percent positive, but it is close to positive," Atalay said after the meeting. Our unions will make the decision and we will abide by that decision."
Public Workers' Raise Proposal
The government's latest raise offer to public workers was as follows:
24% for the first 6 months
11% for the second 6 months
10% for the first 6 months of 2026
6% for the second 6 months
The unions were demanding an increase in the base wage to 1,800 TL and a 50% increase for the first 6 months. However, the bargaining, which led to a strike, was settled in the latest round of talks.
Strike Decisions Postponed
Following the failure to reach an agreement in the collective bargaining negotiations, the Turkish Mine Workers Union had announced that it would go on strike at Eti Maden on August 1 and at Zonguldak mines on August 2. However, the strike decision was postponed for 60 days by the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette.
With the signatures to be signed today, the 2025-2026 raise negotiations for 600 thousand public workers will be officially completed.
