With the LGS placement results announced on August 4, 2025, the high school preferences of approximately 1 million students became clear. Following the results accessed on the website of the Ministry of National Education (MoNE), transfer applications for placement will begin on August 4-6 and August 8-12. Additional placement and boarding school application dates have also been determined for those who are not placed.
ANKARA - The results of the central exam held within the scope of the High School Transition System (LGS), which was eagerly awaited by approximately 1 million 8th grade students, have finally been announced to the public. According to the announcement made by the Ministry of National Education (MoNE), students can easily view their placement results on the Ministry's official website. This announcement marks a great excitement for thousands of students and their families and the beginning of a new semester.
With the results coming in after months of waiting, students have taken an important step towards their future education. A new door of hope has opened for students who are not placed or who are not satisfied with the school they are placed in: The transfer process has officially started.
Immediately after the announcement of the LGS results, the transfer schedule, which students and parents should carefully follow, became clear. This process offers students the opportunity to review their preferences and consider different school options:
First Transfer Applications: Students will be able to make their first transfer applications between August 4-6. This semester offers a critical opportunity for students who were not placed in the school they wanted in the first placement or who aim to do better than the school they were placed in.
Second Transfer Applications: Following the first transfer process, the second transfer applications will be received between August 8-12. This second chance is extremely important for students who have not yet reached the school of their choice.
Throughout the transfer process, students will be able to choose from three different types of placement: local placement, central placement and boarding school preferences. In this way, students will have the chance to evaluate schools close to their residence (local), qualified schools that can be entered with exam scores (central) or schools that provide boarding education (with boarding houses).
For students who have not yet been placed in a school after the first placement and transfer periods, MoNE has also determined the additional placement processes. These processes are of great importance to ensure that no student is left out in the cold:
Additional Placement Process: Additional placement applications for students who have not yet been placed in a school will be made through provincial and district national education directorates between 15-21 August. The applications to be made within this scope are considered as a last chance for students to continue their education life without interruption.
Additional Placement Results Announcement: The results of these applications will be announced to the public on 22 August.
Boarding School Applications: Boarding school applications, especially for students who want to study in boarding schools, can be made between September 1-4.
As students step into high school life, an exciting process has begun for university candidates. 2025 Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) preference process starts on July 30, representing another important step in the transition to university.
With the LGS placement results and transfer processes, the Ministry of National Education continues to guide students in taking the steps that will shape their future. It is of utmost importance for all students and parents to carefully follow the deadlines and complete the application process in full.
