A cave-in occurred in a mine in Alacakaya district of Elazığ. 1 worker is trapped, AFAD and rescue teams are still working.

A cave-in occurred in a private mine in Alacakaya district of Elazığ. According to the first determinations, 1 worker was trapped under the cave-in.
AFAD, UMKE, health teams and gendarmerie were dispatched to the scene and started rescue operations. In a statement made by AFAD, "It was informed that on August 01, 2025 at 09.54, a cave-in occurred in a mining operation in Alacakaya district of Elazığ and 1 worker was trapped. Our intervention teams were immediately dispatched to the incident area."
Elazığ Governor Numan Hatipoğlu came to the scene and made investigations. Governor Hatipoğlu said, "Most of the workers were rescued. There is information that 1 worker is trapped inside, the work of our teams continues."
Rescue teams continue to work to reach the worker under the cave-in.
