The "Turkey Without Terror" commission, established under the roof of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT), will hold its first meeting tomorrow (August 5, 2025) under the chairmanship of GNAT Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş. At the meeting, working principles will be determined and representatives of all political parties will present their views.
Ankara - The "Turkey Without Terror" commission, established under the roof of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT) to create a common ground in the fight against terrorism, one of the most critical problems of the country, will hold its first meeting tomorrow (Tuesday, August 5, 2025) at 11:00 am. This historic meeting, which will be held in the TBMM Ceremony Hall, will be chaired by Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the TBMM.
The long-awaited commission, which was formed with the broad participation of political parties, sets out with the aim of finding permanent solutions to Turkey's terrorism problem, ensuring social reconciliation and realizing the vision of a "Turkey without terrorism". This first session is of great importance in terms of setting the roadmap for the future work of the commission.
The commission's first session will define in detail its working principles, methods and basic principles. This first meeting will set the framework for the functioning of the commission and coordinate future work. The opening speech of the meeting will be delivered by Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Following Kurtulmuş's speech, MPs from the political parties represented in the commission will take the floor one by one to share their views and evaluations on the commission's objectives, working principles and the fight against terrorism. In this way, it will be observed how different political perspectives can meet around a common goal.
