ADANA / MERSİN - The long march for justice launched by the Confederation of Public Employees' Trade Unions (KESK) demanding the reinstatement of its members who were unjustly and unlawfully dismissed by Decree Laws (KHK) is marching steadily towards Ankara. The protest, which is being publicized with the hashtag #KESKliİhraçlarYürüyor, will end in Ankara on Thursday.
According to a statement released by KESK, the important stages of the march in Southeastern and Eastern Anatolia have been completed. Among the cities left behind in this meaningful march started by dismissed public workers are Amed (Diyarbakır), Urfa (Şanlıurfa), Adıyaman and Antep (Gaziantep).
Today (Wednesday, October 15, 2025), after completing the critical stops in the Mediterranean Region, Adana and Mersin, the trekking team will head to the final stop, the capital Ankara.
With the march, KESK aims to make the voices of thousands of public workers who have been away from their jobs for years and have been struggling for peace, labor and democracy in the public sector heard once again. The main demand of the march is the immediate reinstatement of all public workers dismissed by emergency decrees by speeding up the legal processes and eliminating the victimizations experienced.
The march for justice, which started in Ahmed and covered thousands of kilometers, is scheduled to reach Ankara on Thursday, October 16, 2025. The march team is expected to receive an enthusiastic welcome in the capital by KESK Headquarters and the Confederation's union leaders, political party representatives, civil society organizations and supporters. Demands for the return of public laborers will be brought to the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and the relevant ministries with demonstrations in Ankara.
KESK thanked all labor and democracy forces for their solidarity during the march and invited all public workers and citizens who believe in democracy to the final event in Ankara.
