On October 17, 2025, United Public-Is Confederation President Orhan Yıldırım and Central Executives participated in the 20th anniversary activities of Eğitim-İş Trade Union. There was a demonstration in front of the Ministry of National Education against the reduction of the compulsory education period, a visit to Anıtkabir and a visit to the 20th anniversary exhibition/reception.
ANKARA - The United Public-Is Confederation supported its sister union Eğitim-İş with high-level participation in a series of actions and events organized on 17 October 2025 as part of the 20th anniversary of its foundation.
Representing the Confederation, General President Orhan Yıldırım, General Personnel-Legal and CBA Secretary Şenol Eyüboğlu and General Press-Publication and Education Secretary Mehmet Koç were present at the events.
The United Public Sector Workers' Union delegation first participated in the protest organized by Eğitim-İş Union in front of the Ministry of National Education (MEB) against the attempt to reduce the duration of compulsory education. With this action, a common union reaction to changes in education policies was expressed.
After the demonstration, the executives of the Confederation gathered together at the Antabir visit organized by Eğitim-İş Trade Union for the 20th anniversary of its foundation and paid their respects to the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
The day's program continued with a reception and exhibition visit organized by Eğitim-İş Union for its 20th anniversary. United Public-İş executives congratulated Eğitim-İş, which has left 20 years behind in the struggle for unionism, and wished them success in their future struggles.
With this participation, United Public Union of Labor has once again demonstrated its determination in the struggle for the rights of education workers and in protecting the fundamental values of the republic.
